Board of Directors

Ryan N. Bowers, CFP®

Mr. Bowers founded Heritage Wealth Management, LLC and currently serves as Managing Principal and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Bowers began his career as an Equity Analyst concentrating on the valuation of healthcare securities and as a Financial Analyst specializing in the 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit arena at Hoag Memorial Hospital. Prior to founding the company, Mr. Bowers worked as a Financial Advisor for a large wealth management firm in San Diego where he managed assets in excess of $100 million for clients including senior corporate executives, closely held companies, and other high net worth individuals.

Mr. Bowers received his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation and his Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation from the American College. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Biodynamics from the University of California, Berkeley.



Jeffrey A. LaBerge, CFP®, CPA

Mr. LaBerge is one of Heritage Equity Group, LLC’s founding members of and is responsible for developing and overseeing the firm’s traditional and alternative investment strategies as well as managing and monitoring the group’s portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Heritage, Mr. LaBerge began his career in the financial services industry as an Associate for PriceWaterhouseCoopers, LLP where he gained valuable experience in Auditing, Financial Statement Analysis and Tax Planning. After his tenure with PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Mr. LaBerge worked as a Financial Advisor and Investment Analyst for a large financial services firm in San Diego creating customized investment strategies for high net worth individuals and performing alternative investment research for the firm.

Mr. LaBerge is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and is a Level 3 Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) candidate. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Accounting from the University of Arizona.



Jeffrey J. Alvarez

Mr. Alvarez currently serves as Chief Operating Officer for Heritage Wealth Management, LLC. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Alvarez worked for Arrival Communications and has over 8 years experience in operations. In his current role as COO, his main responsibilities include cost reduction, productivity improvement, operating efficiency, technological advancement, capacity utilization, and expansion. In addition, Mr. Alvarez builds the organization’s internal processes and infrastructure to deliver outstanding programs to Heritage clients.

Mr. Alvarez received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Stanford University.



Mark A. Nagaitis - Chief Executive Officer

Mark brings over 20 years experience in engineering, marketing and executive positions at global technology providers and successful startups.

Prior to co-founding 7 Billion People, Mark was Vice President of Marketing at Conformative Systems, an XML acceleration company which was acquired by Intel in 2005. Previously, as Worldwide Director of Marketing for Hewlett-Packard's Infrastructure and NAS Division, Mark helped develop and run a critical business for HP in the Storage market.

Mark has also held executive positions in Compaq's Server Division, helping start and ramp the Appliance Server business to a market leadership position. He has also held marketing and engineering positions at Sun Microsystems, Tandem Computers and, in Europe, at ICL.

Mark's key focus throughout his career has been in identifying new markets and developing and introducing ground-breaking products into those markets.


Richard Marcus

Richard Marcus has served on the board of directors of three public companies: Michael’s Stores, Lands’ End and Zale Corporation where he served as that company’s chairman of the board from 2004-2007. Currently he serves as a senior advisor to Peter J. Solomon Company, an investment banking company and on the board of My Wines Direct.

Mr. Marcus was associated with Neiman Marcus for 27 years, serving as that company’s Chief Executive from 1979 through 1988. When he left Neiman Marcus in late 1988, Mr. Marcus began to advise and assist small companies that were seeking to leverage the emerging ecommerce technologies and the Internet. In 1989 he became a director of XcelleNet, a leading provider of remote systems management software that was subsequently sold to Sterling Commerce.

In 1994 Marcus co-founded an online shopping site and helped develop one of the early and most successful ISPs in Dallas, OnRamp Technologies.

From 1995 through 2007 Mr. Marcus served on the boards of several early stage companies including Novo, Tactica Technology Group, The Castling Group, GiftCertificates.com and 7thOnline.

Mr. Marcus is a graduate of Harvard College and the Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.
